LAS VEGAS - In an exclusive interview with MORE, singer Vince Neil admitted he had been drinking when Las Vegas Metro police arrested him Sunday night, telling Monica Jackson “I made a mistake.” Neil's account of this event is documented in MÃ¶tley CrÃ¼e's 2001 autobiography The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band. Vince dedicated Theater of Pain to Razzle. He was buried at Holy Cross Church in Binstead near Ryde on the Isle of Wight in 1988. (It was already 9 December in Europe, which is considered his official time of death). He was taken to South Bay ER but was declared DOA 8 December at 19:12 local time. The two occupants of the other car were seriously injured but Razzle took the worst of it. While speeding and driving drunk, Neil lost control of the car and hit an opposing vehicle. The two decided to take a trip to a local liquor store in Neil's De Tomaso Pantera. On December 8, Razzle visited Neil's home and spent the day at Redondo Beach. During that break Razzle decided to visit his friend, MÃ¶tley CrÃ¼e's singer Vince Neil, in California. Frontman Michael Monroe fractured his ankle, so the band had to skip a few gigs and take a break. In late 1984 Hanoi Rocks was on their first American tour. His encore rendition of Blitzkrieg Bop by the Ramones, as seen on TNT The Nottingham Tapes, was a vision in sleaze as he sings cigarette-in-mouth, top-hatted and lycra'd to the max. This move had them adopt a more overt glam theme once he had taken over the Rocks' drums from Gyp Casino. He was reputed for having a strong influence upon Hanoi Rocks' style. When asked about this, he said that he couldn't see that he would stay with Hanoi Rocks forever, instead setting his long term sights on playing for a stadium rock band such as Heart. Prior to joining Hanoi Rocks, Razzle had played in UK-based bands Marionette, Demon Preacher (Featurning Nik Fiend of later Alien Sex Fiend fame), and The Dark.ĭingley was notable for having 'Razzle' printed on his drum kit and not the name of the band he was in, unlike most drummers of the time. This went ahead and he grew up as the only child of Henry and Irene Dingley in Coventry and then in Binstead near Ryde on the Isle of Wight. But after that, he realized it wasn’t our kind of thing. “He’d been in a speed-metal kind of band before, and he had two bass drums, and we were like, “Double kick drums, no way.” He brought a second bass drum to a show, and at the venue, we took the other pedal off before the show, and he was pissed off. If I were going through a rough patch, he’d come up to me and say, “I can tell you’re in a bad place, but it’ll be all right you’ll be okay.” It was a perfectly flawed kind of chemistry, and it was great. That was the chemistry and the magic in the band. You don’t notice it, but you can feel it. You listen to the tempos some of the songs, like ‘Until I Get You,’ that song slowly speeds up towards the end. He and Sami, back in the day, like on the Back to Mystery City album, there were no click tracks they would play it live. That’s going to be hard to play drums with platform boots on! Technically, he wasn’t the greatest drummer, but he had a great attitude, and we knew he’d evolve. He came to the first audition, where we checked him out in platform boots. And the way he played reminded me of Keith Moon and Neal Smith from the Alice Cooper band. Michael Monroe’s words about the similarities between Razzle and Keith Moon: The track showed their flawed chemistry perfectly. Monroe also didn’t forget to mention the time they recorded ‘Until I Get You’ where they played the song live to record it.

The rocker added that although Razzle wasn’t the greatest drummer, they knew he’d learn and evolve with time. They had all thought playing the drums with those would be complex. Monroe talked about Razzle coming to the first audition for Hanoi Rocks in platform boots. Michael Monroe stated that Razzle was a great guy to be around and that he reminded him of Keith Moon and Neal Smith due to their similar playing styles.
